Measuring Guide Explained
You do not need to worry about the size of the railing itself. At Gates and Railings Direct we take care of that. All you need to do is follow the railing measuring guide to measure the space that the railing or railings will occupy.
- Measure the height from the ground up to the top of the wall or the bottom of your coping stone.
- Just measure straight from pillar to pillar or post to post.
- Do not allow for any clearances between the supporting pillars, posts or the opening as we do this for you.
- If you look at the diagram above you will see exactly where you need to take your measurements from.
Should you require more than one railing, use the same railing measuring guide above. All we need is the amount of railings required when starting the ordering process. For this reason please measure each gap for your railings separately, as some gaps may look the same visually but can differ slightly when measuring.
Railing Measuring Guide
- Firstly we have accounted for 25mm per side for an adjustable bracket, which we will place either side of your pillar wall.
- Secondly we have accounted for 10mm for a foot/base plate if fitting on to top of a wall.
- Finally we have accounted for a 50mm clearance for each individual post.
Please Do Not Allow For Clearances
